Day Twelve

Story time, folks!

Once upon a time my sister and I went shopping and I bought a really cute skirt. Really cute. I wore it a few times and, let's face it, I rocked it. Well, then something went horribly wrong. The skirt began fitting a little tighter. And then it began to be uncomfortably snug. I was convinced for a long time that someone was playing a dirty trick on me, secretly replacing my skirt with one a size smaller. (Okay, I never actually believed that, but I tried very hard to.)

So the skirt was left in my closet night after night as I hoped the expansion fairy would pay me a visit and return the skirt to its original size (or at least stop visiting me so I could return to my original size.) Countless heartaches and disappointments followed until the skirt was pushed so far back in the closet I only vaguely recalled having it.

This past Sunday I was dressing for church and realized the outfit I was going to wear wasn't going to work out (by that I mean I needed to do laundry). So I reached back, back, back into my closet. Just in front of my skinny jeans, which are located just in front of my exercise pants (which ought to tell me something), I found my really cute skirt.

I braced myself for disappointment, I prepared several scathing declarations to heap on the head of the negligent expansion fairy. I slipped the skirt on and, miracle of miracles, it fit. It fit!!! (Cue heraldic choir and blaring of celebratory trumpets.)

So, the moral of the story is... while the scale may not register any difference after a month of Pilatification, my waistline does. I still have more inches to go and am still artfully dodging the expansion fairy, but this is progress people!!

WAHOOOOO!
