I think I aged over the weekend.
I'm not sure how it happened, but I am pretty sure I am several decades older. Only minutes into my Pilates workout I started noticing something was not quite right. I had lost my youthful (okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration) dexterity and stamina. Stretches and positions that had once been easy and unchallenging (now we're headed right into the world of bold-faced lies) were not so easy and... well... challenging.
Reasons I came up with for why this might be:
1. I aged over the weekend (I realize I said that already, but it is my favorite theory).
2. Somehow it is my children's fault. Working on the details.
3. Not enough sleep over the weekend. Does that mean I get a nap? And, if I take a nap in "resting position", does that count as a workout?
4. I missed my third workout last week. I would like to think this has nothing to do with it. I would also like to think that Ashleigh, who is keeping tabs on how well I am doing with the DVD, didn't notice that I only did my Pilates twice last week. I would also like to think that the gods of Pilatifying are forgiving and will allow me this week to prove myself a loyal subject once more.
Hmm...
