Day Twenty-nine

Do you remember a few posts ago when I mentioned having discovered that it is, in fact, possible to move various parts of my body using my abs? Yea. Still reeling from the shock. Think of the myriad things I might have done with my life had I known that sooner. Tragic. But I am coping.

Being more in-tune with my "powerhouse" has changed my workout significantly:

  1. I am needing to resort to resting position with a renewed amount of alarming frequency. My abs (aka core muscles, aka powerhouse) are being pushed to a degree they aren't remotely accustomed to.
  2. I am finding coughing and laughing inadvisable. You see, I discovered that those same muscles that are now exclusively in charge of my Pilatificating are needed for such mundane tasks as breathing. The objections made my abdominal muscles when laughing, coughing, breathing deeply are both painful and awe-inspiring.
  3. I go through more water. But that has nothing to do with my abs. Just something I've noticed.
  4. I laugh a lot. Again, no connection to my powerhouse discovery. I have been listening to NPR while working out. Vastly entertaining.

Look out Christopher Columbus. I'm makin' discoveries!
