How many of us have started an exercise regimen only to "fall off the wagon" after a few weeks. Last week was my wagon ejection moment. I was sick. I was busy. I was really, really tired. And I only got in one workout - and it was kind of a pathetic workout, at that.
But, unlike every other exercise program I have undertaken in the past, I am back on track and starting again. And, darn it, I'm pretty proud of myself.
Things I learned about skipping a few too many workouts:
- My knees whine more after they've been catered to for a few days.
- Those muscles that had finally gotten used to Pilates - not so much anymore. There was a great deal of internal objections.
- Although I had graduated to a flexibility level vaguely resembling that of a Galapagos Turtle, I have regressed to something along the lines of a granite boulder. (I'm really hoping that will be quickly changed.)
- I hate "saw" even more than I did before.
So, lesson learned. I'm gearin' up for a better week and a rededicated frame of mind.
