Day Twenty-seven

Party day. No, literally. The Maximum Pilates Studio celebrated its one-year anniversary at the current location and they had a party. Even I, the obnoxious home workout blogger, got to attend. Good times! So, congrats to Heather and Ashleigh (the Pilates gurus that run the place.)

My 8-year old put in a DVD to watch last night and pulled out my workout DVD. In utter shock he asked me, "How often do you watch this thing?" Again, little party. I workout often enough for my kids to notice. Wahoo!!

Lastly, there was a little "I Finally Figured Some of This Out" Party. I made what is probably a very obvious discovery during yesterday's workout. One of the exercises that are done in the video involves legs up, perpendicular to the ground. The legs are then lowered a little and then brought back up. I always felt this one in my legs, which is good, but couldn't ever manage to keep my lower back pressed to the ground like it's supposed to be.

Had a break through yesterday. I discovered that if, instead of creating the movement by shifting my hips, I make the same thing happening by moving my abs, then my back doesn't come off the ground. Plus, it makes the workout more intense - which it is supposed to be. So now I get to try to implement that in those other exercises.

So, good day.
