Day Thirty-nine

Can you hear the "Welcome Back Kotter" theme song playing? I can.

I wish I could say my pathetically long absence from both this blog and the work-outs that are part of it was due to something of monumental importance, but it isn't. Life happened. I got busy. I got out of the habit.

But I'm back. And Pilatificating kicked by flabbier-than-a-month-ago backside. It was pretty miserable. But I didn't give in and just kept going.

I thought, for the benefit of those who might be slipping off the Pilatification bandwagon, I would list those things which finally motivated me to come back.

  • My favorite pair of jeans had gotten a little too tight. I wasn't real keen on those jeans getting a lot too tight.
  • My 6-year-old had The Flu last week and late one night, while I was holding her as she suffered through a blazing fever, she showed her appreciation for my efforts by playing with my underarm flap.
  • I have a fancy dinner to go to in a few weeks and I want to look good in the dress I bought. (Yep, it's pretty hot.)
  • Temps are up in the 80s. That means swimsuit season is just around the corner.
  • I got a little winded during my several-hours long jaunt to buy the hot dress I mentioned above. That's gotta stop.
So I am telling myself that this return will stick and I won't be doing a repeat post in a few months.

"Welcome Back. Welcome Back. Welcome B-a-a-ck."
